In order to access Certify.SBA.gov you’ll need to create a user account. Written instructions are below; to view a quick video containing detailed instructions, visit Create Your Certify Account.
- Firm owners must create an account on Certify to claim their business. Third parties and contributors cannot begin an application or submit on behalf of a firm owner.
- If this happens, the third party or contributor will need to delete the application and the firm owner will need to restart the process under their account.
- If you are completing an application on behalf of an entity-owned firm, you will need to use a different email address for each firm's application at this time.

What You'll Need to Register
- Email Address (where you can retrieve email)
- Make sure you can retrieve email from the email address entered, as this is where you'll receive notifications from Certify, including your verification email for registration.
- If you are filling out an application on behalf of an entity-owned firm, you will only be able to use each email address one time/with one 8(a) application, so multiple emails may be needed. See details in the Before Getting Started section above.
- DUNS Number
- TIN (EIN or SSN depending on business type)
- MPIN from active SAM.gov profile
Instructions to Create Your Account and Connect Your Business
Quick Notes: Firm owners, and not third parties or other staff, must create their accounts in Certify. To get started, firm owners will need their DUNS number, TIN (EIN or SSN), and MPIN from their active SAM.gov profile. Please visit your SAM.gov account before getting started to make sure all the information is up to date and that your SAM account is “active.” Finally, one email address is currently allowed in Certify per business. Therefore, entity-owned firms will need a different email address for each annual review.
