8. Claiming a Business in MySBA Certifications

In order to claim a business, you must provide your Unique Entity Identifier (UEI), CAGE Code, and Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN).

 

If you receive a Business Already Claimed message, verify the account numbers are entered correctly and your SAM account is in an active status.

  1. This page displays after the Primary Qualified Owner (PQO) selects Begin on the Post-login Landing Page.

In order to start the application, the PQO must claim a business from the http://SAM.gov registered business database.​ To do this, identify your UEI, CAGE code, and TIN and enter the information for each into corresponding fields on the page. Then select Find.

  1. The next page will display your business. Please select the associated business type from the "Confirm your Business Type" dropdown menu above your business listing and review the listed business information for accuracy. Once complete, select Next.

  1. Before completing the Claim Your Business section, a pop-up will appear to notify you that selecting the wrong business type will result in you resubmitting your application. Once you click Yes you will then need to confirm your selected business type from the "Confirm your Entity Structure". Please double check your selected business type is the same business type listed in your business' listing. Once confirmed, select Continue. The pop-up will close and you are free to start the application process.

  1. If you are still having issues, create a help ticket using the MySBA Help Desk Portal.

     

    When creating the help ticket, select the appropriate major and minor categories. Provide additional details in the description area of the help ticket form:

    • Business Name

    • UEI

    • TIN/EIN

    • Email Address
