The MySBA Certifications Home Page (Certifications.sba.gov) provides business applicants with:

  • Information on SBA certifications

  • Access to login or registration for a MySBA Certifications account

  • Access to the MySBA Certifications Knowledge Base

3

The MySBA Certifications Login Page displays after a user selects Login on the MySBA Certifications Home Page. From here the user can either sign into an existing account or select Register Account.

4

The Post-Login Landing Page displays after a Qualifying Owner has logged into their MySBA Certifications account, and offers an entry point for the Qualifying Owner to begin claiming a business.

The page also includes an entry point for Delegates and Contributors to access the correct application/questionnaire via an Invitation Code.

The Business Dashboard shows in-progress and submitted applications, and offers the user basic features to access application content.

After a user has logged into MySBA Certifications, the Header is ever-present and interactive across nearly all screens of the interface (except modal window pop-ups which always take temporary precedence over other user operations... we'll discuss those more later). Much of the information linked within the Header is personalized per user to streamline basic application processes and enable easy navigation, reference, and correspondence. Let's take a closer look at the three sections.

  1. Application Menu

  • Home - navigates users to their Business Dashboard

  • Messages* – navigates users to messages and correspondence between members of the business as well as messages between the business and SBA reviewers.

  • Documents – navigates users to all uploaded documents pertaining to the application.

  • Saved – navigates users to an area containing all saved items, for easy and quick reference

  • Support – navigates user to help features that can assist in the application process and in fostering a general understanding of MySBA Certifications.

  1. User Menu

  • Notifications* - a dropdown which presents a user with in-app notifications when an item is in need of their attention.

  • Account - navigates users to account details and preferences.

  • User Profile* - a dropdown which allows users to view/edit their profile information and log out of MySBA Certifications.

  1. Business Name – a dropdown which contains the name and details of the business applicant.

*Dedicated screen views for selected section items are shown to the left.

Regardless of your application role, you will encounter several pages that contain the Progress Banner at the top of the screen in MySBA Certifications. The banner shows users "breadcrumbs" that track and outline the sequential steps of the application process; dark blue segments indicate completed steps, bright blue segments indicate the present step, and gray segments indicate the steps yet to be completed.

Major steps on the Progress Banner include:

  • Ownership

  • Control & Operation

  • Program Selection

  • Individual Questionnaire

  • Document Upload

  • Contributor Invitation

  • Sign

8

The Individual Questionnaires page displays questionnaire cards for various sections of the application, and the specific cards shown onscreen are trimmed according to those which a given user must complete.

By selecting each questionnaire card, the user will be directed to a dedicated space within the platform where they can provide relevant inputs.

9

Modal windows are a general prompting mechanism used by MySBA Certifications throughout the application process.

Modal windows appear atop certain pages of the application in a familiar pop-up fashion. When completing inputs for a modal window, the background interface is temporarily grayed out and rendered non-responsive until the modal window item is completed.
